To Identify and Examine the Threats to Press Freedom in Modern Democracy
This dissertation investigates the principal threats to press freedom in modern democracies, with a particular focus on media concentration, corporate ownership, the rise of social media, and the rise of misinformation. Through a combination of extensive literature review and primary research involving interviews with established journalists, it critically analyses how these factors undermine journalistic independence and the foundational principles of a free press.
